Launched in May 2000, Eutelsat W4 is the forth spacecraft built for Eutelsat by Alcatel Espace. The Russia beam covers the European part of Russia, Ukraine and also the CIS and Eastern Europe.

19 high-power transponders in the Russia beam on W4 make it possible to organize broadcasting on dishes of a small diameter (40-60 cm).

The two biggest Russian satellite operators transmit their packages via Eutelsat W4. The fact that the diameter of a customer dish required for receiving a signal from satellites W4 is only 40-60 сm fosters fast 36° E position audience growth.

Today there is no spare satellite capacity on Eutelsat W4.
